These are Rectify Series drop-in speaker systems for Athearn RTR RS-3 locomotives.

TWO VERSIONS AVAILABLE:

For early, pre-sound versions, the speaker replaces the plastic tray in the long hood and no modifications are needed to install it. There is extremely little space between the motor and interior hood - roughly 3.5mm. Due to this limitation, the easiest way I have found to install DCC-sound in these is to mount a Nix Trainz Decoder Buddy N18+ to the top of the speaker with thin mounting-tape. This conversion is quite fast and painless!

A thin-4mm conversion lens, nipped into two single beams, will replace the single bulbs for a simple LED conversion. If you need to modernize your headlights with twin-beams, the Stewart lower door-mount modernization kit will fit.

For current-run sound-ready or sound-equipped models, the speaker screws to the chassis in place of the stock speaker. I trimmed flush the un-used plastic clips behind the stock speaker on the plastic tray. No other modifications are required to replace or install this speaker.

The speakers come fully assembled and tested.
