This is a Rectify Series drop-in speaker system for Life-Like Proto 2000 SD7/9 (and possibly GP7/9) locomotives. The system sits on the chassis over the short-hood drive-shaft and fits between the cab seats in the cab. This is a fast, simple way to add sound to these locomotives without modifying the frame. Use two small strips of mounting-tape to secure the feet to the frame.
If you use a rotary tool and nip off the two screw-mount posts from the stock PCB, you'll have a good 10mm of clearance under the long-hood. Depending on the style of your decoder install, a 9mm high UFIT will mount in the rear. Pictured is a 15mmW x 40mmL UFIT-5940-RC1 speaker monted behind a Nix Trainz Decoder Buddy along with the cab-mounted LLPR-79FR speaker.
The speaker comes fully assembled and tested.
Dimensions are: 16mmH x 13mmW x 21mmL
